The Jig is up!

Over the last few months there many arguments have followed this logical line:
Me: You don't get to make the decisions. You are not an adult.
M: Stop treating me like a child. I am not a child. I am an adult.

Later:

Me: Adults have to learn to recognize their bad moods and not continue taking them out on others.
M: Well, I'm not an adult.

(Then what are you? If you are not an adult and you are not a child...are you a pony?)

Then yesterday, in a moment of transparency, M admitted that she chooses whether or not she is a child or an adult based on the situation.
All I can say is....

Teenagers, can't live with them, can't help but love them.

Happy 4th of July!

  1. This sounds so much like my oldest when she was 15, always wanting to be an adult until it gets hard. So far, my 16-year-old hasn't given me this problem...knock on wood!

Thanks for visiting my blog :)
