A song list for my M

M is 15 and is in what developmental psychology would call "Separation of Self" phase. (See, my BA in Psychology is paying off!) (well, not literally.)
This is hard on her Momma. So in honor of her trials and struggles, and my love I am including a mixed tape of sorts.
*SPOILER ALERT* This is going to get sappy!

1. You're Beautiful by Mercy Me

2. Who You Are to Me by Big Daddy Weave

3. This is the Stuff by Francesca Battistelli

4.Sweet Child of Mine by Guns N'Roses (which I didn't even listen to in High School)

5. Mirror by BarlowGirl

6. Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars

7.You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile from 1982 Annie

8. Don't Rain on My Parade by Glee (Originally Barbara in Funny Face)

9. I'll Stand by You by Carrie Underwood

10.Long Distance Lullaby by Martina McBride

These aren't necessarily in order but these are my songs to M
Love you Little Bit.
Mom

I have one more to add, I cannot believe I missed this one!
Teenage Daughters by Martina McBride.  She's saying, "They're crazy"!
Love you!

  1. Oh, you're a sweet mama. She's a lucky girl. I remember being 15, though I have a while to go before my kids get there (thankfully!). It's a confusing time, but from this beautiful playlist she'll certainly know that she can turn to you when she needs to. Try to load them up on her own music player or burn her a CD and leave it for her with a little note. Let her find it herself. You may or may not get a response, but she'll know she matters!!!

  2. This is such a great idea. I hope that when I have teenagers someday that I'll remember this.

  4. This is so sweet! I love this idea - when my son is old enough, I'll make him a mix tape too! :)
